⚠️ Important

Worth being upfront about this: Kenneth holds a columbarium agent licence at Woodlands Memorial, but not at Garden of Remembrance. Both sets of figures below come from each facility's own published information, this comparison isn't slanted toward one because of that relationship, but it's fair for you to know it exists.

What this actually comes down to

If your family is entirely Christian and a dedicated, single-faith environment matters to you, Garden of Remembrance is a real, long-established option worth considering directly. It's been run by the Methodist Church for decades, and being Christian-only isn't a limitation for a family that's specifically looking for that.

If your family includes members of different faiths, or you'd simply rather have the option to hold the wake and later the columbarium visit in the same building, Woodlands Memorial's multi-faith structure and integrated funeral parlour is the more flexible choice. It also happens to be the one Kenneth can walk you through directly, given his agent relationship there.

Neither is objectively better, they serve genuinely different situations.

On the lease terms specifically

This is a real, meaningful difference worth understanding rather than skimming past. Garden of Remembrance's niches sit on a longer initial term, 60 years, running to 2059, with a stated (but not yet detailed) path to extend to 2098. Woodlands Memorial's is 30 years. Neither is freehold, and "longer lease" doesn't automatically mean better value once you weigh it against the price difference, worth asking each facility directly what happens at the end of the term and what a renewal would cost. See Leasehold or Freehold? What Columbarium Ownership Actually Means for the fuller picture.
