What is a CCOD and why is it needed?
A Certificate of Cause of Death (CCOD) is issued by a doctor after examining the body, confirming the cause of death. It's required before a Death Certificate can be issued and before a funeral can proceed. If someone dies at home, a doctor needs to visit in person to issue it, it can't be done remotely.
